ABOUT
Marina De Salis (b. 1989, Moscow) is a Russian-Kazakh artist whose work is culturally polyphonic, tinted with memories from her life across Central Asia, Europe, and North America. She works in different mediums, primarily painting on silk, chosen for its lightness and resilience, and for its symbolic ties to her Kazakh heritage along the Silk Road. Her evolving body of work consists of story-like murals inspired by her travels, the natural world, symbols in spirituality, Eurasian folklore, and vivid dreams.
She graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London, and studied Graphic Design at Shillington Manchester. She lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
